Summer Sports and Language Camp:  Germany

Are you studying abroad in Germany this fall or interested in exploring this beautiful country while learning German language?  If so, this camp is for you!

This unique two-week camp offers a bilingual learning environment with both German and English junior language courses being offered for students aged between 12-17.  The language program is designed to naturally improve student’s language proficiency and is suited both to age and ability levels.

During the camp, students are integrated with a mix of nationalities and native English and German-speaking leaders through a blended program of structured language lessons, cultural excursions and adventure activity sessions to enhance students’ confidence and language ability.

The German language courses are orientated and based on 4 of the 6 levels defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, and B2).  A grading test will be conducted on the first day of teaching and each student will receive an individual performance certificate at the end of the course.

During the day, students will participate in language classes and either activity sessions or excursions depending on the schedule.  On-site activity sessions include:  football, beach volleyball, mountain biking, climbing, archery, outdoor education/teambuilding and traditional German activities such as Biathlon, Headies or KinBal.  In the evening, students can participate in various activities.  Examples include:  welcome games, movie night, BBQ and bonfire, sports nights or various workshops.

This program is excellent for everybody who is interested in getting to know Germany before starting the exchange experience, especially students with limited knowledge of the German language!

Dates:  7/21 – 8/4
