School
As soon as a foreign exchange student walks into their classroom, every single one of their classmates becomes a participant in this rewarding experience! Together, the students spend the year building understanding, tolerance, and a more global perspective. From students to teachers to the host family, the entire community benefits when a school decides to open its doors to a J1 exchange student. Contact Pan Atlantic Foundation today to arrange a meeting with your area representative!
Visas & AdmissionAs a Department of State designated sponsor of secondary school programs, Pan Atlantic Foundation provides each student with all necessary documentation and visas. There is one form requiring a signature from a school, and any accredited school is authorized to welcome a J1 exchange student. This is different from the F1 visa program where the school must be a certified sponsor.

Language & AcademicsAs a small boutique program, Pan Atlantic Foundation prides itself on student selection. We pay close attention to, not only, the student’s language ability and test scores, but also to their maturity, adaptability, and the promise they show to have a successful year.

Host Family PlacementPan Atlantic Foundation Area Representatives and staff handle the procurement, processing, and management of all student housing. While each school is welcomed to provide feedback on the selected families, there is no school involvement required when it comes to Host Family placement.
