CREATING DS FORMS

Adding a student to SEVIS manually

SEVIS Dates
  1. DS start and end dates in Sugar should match SEVIS start and end dates.  These dates are the start and end dates for school.
  2. Program dates in Sugar are the actual arrival and departure dates.  The departure dates should be 14 days following the school end date.
  3. The generic dates for insurance purposes are 8/1 – 6/30.   Use these dates in absence of placements.
  4. We will determine at which point we stop updating SEVIS dates so that their visa dates match.
  5. Please do not enter any semester dates   until further notice. We  might only issue 10 month DS forms.

Additional SEVIS notes

  1. You don’t have to enter any foreign contact number or address.
  2. You always need to enter their local US phone (HF phone) twice, once under residential and once under US contact.
  3. If student hasn’t yet entered the country, you can just “edit” the Pan Atlantic site of activity rather than adding a new school and selecting that new school.
  4. If you are updating a student in SEVIS and a DS form has already been sent to this student, you must send a reprint.
